About Will

Hey! My name is Will. I am a qualified specialist teacher with over 15 years of experience in education. I work with children, young people and adults from both mainstream and specialist education settings.

My journey in education began in 2012, when I started working as an apprentice teaching assistant at a local special school. This experience sparked my interest in supporting learners with diverse needs and inspired me to continue developing my knowledge and expertise. Over the years, I became a qualified specialist teacher and a Doctor of Education, graduating with a doctorate from the University of Bath in 2025.

Today, I use my expertise to provide bespoke teaching that is carefully adapted to each learner’s needs, abilities and goals. I offer face-to-face tuition for learners in my local area, alongside online tuition for students across the UK and internationally.

My approach is underpinned by understanding each learner as an individual. I am keen to look beyond the surface of a challenge and understand why a learner may be finding certain areas difficult. By identifying the specific barriers they face, I can provide targeted teaching that helps learners to overcome challenges and develop the skills they need to make progress.

Above all, I believe that learners learn best when they feel comfortable, understood and supported. Creating the right learning environment is central to my approach as a teacher, as it allows learners to ask questions, make mistakes and develop their understanding without fear of judgement. When learners feel safe and confident, meaningful learning can be achieved.

Student and Parent Feedback

"After much research and looking for recommendations for a maths tutor for my son, we found Will.

Will is a dedicated, highly experienced teacher who is able to identify where support is needed in maths and the reasons why there might be difficulties. Will creates and delivers bespoke plans, taking into account the learner, their preferences and pace. Will manages to deliver the material whilst maintaining the learner's interests. Will monitors progress, reports back regularly and provides encouragement to build confidence.

Thank you, Will."

Liz

(Parent)

"During Year 11, Will supported me with my English Language and Literature exams. What stood out most was how comfortable he made me feel. Not only was he an amazing tutor, he was someone I could talk to with ease. This made learning so much easier!

Will was always patient when explaining new topics and created an environment where I never felt judged for needing extra help. Before tutoring, English was something I really struggled with but with Will's support, something finally clicked. With his guidance, I achieved my Grade 5 in both subjects, which I'm extremely proud of.

I would recommend Will to any student who needs encouragement and support because he truly cares about helping his students to excel."

"My daughter has made great progress in maths thanks to Will's patience and brilliant, clear teaching. Will has a way of making difficult maths concepts easier to understand. The use of hands on resources makes the lessons so practical, interesting and relatable to everyday life. Will has really helped to build my daughter's confidence and made learning maths enjoyable

I would highly recommend Will to all parents who are searching for a highly experienced, professional, patient and caring tutor."

"After having Will from Year 8 to Year 11, I can say with confidence that his lessons are always efficient and accurate. Will is able to present complex information simply and keeps the lesson engaging. I have full confidence that I will pass my GCSE maths due to Will's excellent teaching and support throughout the years."

Conor

(Former Student - Year 8 to Year 11)

"I was really struggling with my maths as I prepared to do my GCSEs and was very worried that I would fail. However, with Will’s help, I comfortably passed.
Without Will, I don’t think that I could have achieved this. He explained things very clearly and he helped me to understand things that hadn’t made sense to me before and his sense of humour made the sessions fun.."
